Sylvie Fleury (b. 1961, Geneva, Switzerland) is a Swiss Pop artist whose artwork re-contextualizes status symbols, luxury goods and brand slogans. As a means of investigating cultural desire, Fleury uses contemporary iconography to suggest deeper irony. Her works often explore the construction of identity and the absurdity of the quest for self-perfection. Fleury’s Be Amazing neon is an iconic trademark slogan that the artist has rethought in an effort to instigate more awareness and encourage the viewer to pay more attention to superficiality and its importance in our modern society.
